After breakfast, you will depart Damaraland and continue your journey to the iconic Brandberg Mountain, Namibia’s highest mountain and one of its most striking natural landmarks.
The Brandberg Mountain Range, located in the Erongo Region about 90 km from the Atlantic Ocean, covers an area of approximately 760 km² and rises dramatically above the surrounding plains. With an average height of around 2,500 metres, it dominates the landscape and is famous for its dramatic granite formations and ancient rock art, including the well-known White Lady painting.
The name Brandberg, meaning “Burning Mountain,” comes from the spectacular glowing colors the mountain displays at sunset, when the granite appears to be on fire. The nearby town of Uis, about 30 km away, serves as the closest settlement to the area.
