At 09:00 AM, you will be collected from your hotel in the resort town of Victoria Falls and travel north into Botswana toward Kasane, the gateway to Chobe National Park.
On arrival, you will explore the wildlife-rich northern region of Chobe, an area renowned for its exceptional game density thanks to the permanent waters of the Chobe River. This fertile ecosystem supports vast herds of elephants – the largest population in Africa – often seen moving between the riverbanks and the open plains. After breakfast, depart Chobe and travel south from Kasane to Nata, journeying through the open landscapes of northern Botswana.
This afternoon you will visit the extraordinary Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, one of the largest salt flats in the world. These vast, shimmering plains are the remains of the ancient Lake Makgadikgadi, which once covered an area larger than Switzerland before drying up thousands of years ago.
Today, the pans form a surreal and beautiful wilderness, attracting a variety of wildlife and seasonal birdlife, including flamingos and other migratory species after the rains. The endless horizon and silence of the pans create a truly unique African safari atmosphere.
